Whilst the focus of attention on 24 April was on celebrations being held in Armenia to mark the 100th anniversary of the massacres of Armenians in 1915 in Anatolia, Armenian communities all over the world have also been marking the occasion. In Los Angeles thousands of people marched with Armenian flags, some holding posters demanding that the events be recognised as genocide. California has one of the largest Armenian diaspora communities in the world.
