Armenia on Monday (21 September) celebrated the 24th anniversary of its independence.
President Serzh Sargsyan accompanied by the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, and the President of the self-declared Republic of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Sahakian, visited the Erablur Military Pantheon and paid tribute to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country.
President Sargsyan also received messages of congratulations from world leaders, including President Obama of the US, President Putin of Russia and the German President Joachim Gauck.
