President Ilham Aliev of Azerbaijan on Saturday (3 December) visited communities affected by the fierce fighting in April on the Azerbaijani side of the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. The President inspected various municipal facilities in Terter and Aghdam regions, where he also viewed reconstruction of houses and facilities that had been damaged in the April fighting.
The president was accompanied by his wife, Mehraban Aliyeva.

It is likely that opposition parties will rally around one of the leaders of the protest movement, although it is understood that apart from the candidacy of Nikol Pashinyan other options are being considered.
