Armenian and Azerbaijani sources are reporting casualties in separate incidents in the Karabakh conflict zone. Three Armenian soldiers were killed on Friday afternoon. An Azerbaijani soldier was reported killed on Thursday.
According to the press service of the military formations of the self-declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, quoted by the Armenian media, "the adversary violated the ceasefire regime at about 6:05 pm on Friday, using AGS-17 in the direction of the protection area of one of the central military units under the subordination of the Defense Army. Consequently Defense Army servicemen Arayik Matinyan (born in 1997), Vigen Petrosyan (born in 1997) and Vardan Sargsyan (born in 1997) were mortally wounded". No further information is available, but the Azerbaijani media is also reporting the incident saying that Azerbaijani forces retaliated to cease fire violations.
Earlier it was reported that an Azerbaijani soldier was killed on Thursday as a result of Armenian fire. The soldier, Sultan Shahvaladov, from Gusar in Northern Azerbaijan was buried in his home town with military honours on Friday.
There are as yet no more details about the incidents.
