Azerbaijan has announced big chages at the top of its security sector.
In various decrees published on Thursday, 20 June, president Ilham Aliyev appointed outgoing Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov, as Secretary of the country's National Security Council. Usubov had served as Interior Minister for nearly two decades. Usubov was replaced at the Interior Ministry by his deputy,, Vilayat Eyvazov.
By another decree, president Aliyev appointed Ali Nagiyev as Head of the State Security Service. The outgoing head of the State Security Service, Madat Guliyev, was appointed Minister of Defence Industry.

The monastery has turned from a place of worship to a flashpoint, with Georgian religious zealots trying to state their claim on the land as Georgian territory, and Azerbaijani border guards stopping them.
