Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan is hosting in Armenia the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and other special guests who are attending the summit of the organisation that is being held on Tuesday (1 October) in the Armenian capital.
Among those attending the meeting will be president Putin of Russia, who will however only stay in Yerevan for a few hours. Apart from the leaders of the EEU member states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, also attending the meeting as special guests are the presidents of Iran and of Moldova, and the prime minister of Singapore.
Pashinyan on Monday held bilateral meetings with some of the leaders present ahead of today's summit.

In a terse statement issued in Brussels on Sunday evening (9 August) EU Foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell described the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean as "extremely worrying".
